The fifth day of the competition ended at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest. Russian athletes have won more medals.
Ilya Borodin's Gold Medal
Russian swimmer Ilya Borodin won gold in the 400 m short course. The result of the 21-year-old Russian was 3 minutes 56.83 seconds.
The second place was taken by American Carson Foster (0.62 seconds behind), the bronze medalist was Italian Alberto Razzetti (+2.00).
"Gold" in the mixed relay
Russian swimmers Miron Lifintsev, Kirill Prigoda, Arina Surkova and Daria Klepikova won the 4x100m mixed medley relay in short water. The Russians showed a time of 3 minutes 30.47 seconds. The Americans were second (0.08 seconds behind), the Canadians were third (+1.50).
For 18-year-old Lifintsev, this is the fourth gold medal at the tournament!
Now the Russian swimmers have won five gold and three silver medals at the tournament.
