DVVS hosted the Ural Federal District Swimming Championships and championships

The Water Sports Palace has once again become a venue for major swimming competitions. This time Yekaterinburg hosted the strongest swimmers of the Ural Federal District. In total, 449 swimmers and 59 coaches representing the Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, as well as guests from St. Petersburg and the Republic of Tatarstan participated in the Ural Federal District championships and championships.

Four competitive days (October 25-28) in the DVVS pool, filled with emotions and sports excitement, determined the strongest swimmers in their distances. The athletes of the Alexander Popov swimming School, representing the national team of the Sverdlovsk region, showed worthy results. Elizaveta Egorova performed well again, collecting a set of 4 medals: silver in the 200 m backstroke, 3 bronze medals in the 50 m backstroke, 100 m backstroke and in the 4x50 combined relay. Anna Telelyaeva won two bronze medals in the 50 m freestyle and 4x50 freestyle relay.

In the Ural Federal District youth championship, Egor Ban twice rose to the podium for a silver medal in the 50 m backstroke and a bronze in the 50 m freestyle.

"The athletes performed well and showed their best results at the distances. Every year they improve their athletic performance and move forward," Evgeny Davydov, swimming coach at the Alexander Popov School, commented on the results of the tournament.

It should be noted that the results shown at the championships and championships of the federal districts are taken into account when forming national teams of the subjects to participate in the Russian championship and in the All-Russian sports competitions "Reserve of Russia". Platon Arapov and Egor Ban have significantly improved their performance and have great chances to qualify for the All-Russian Reserve of Russia competition, which will soon be held in Saransk.
