Another "gold" by Miron Lifintsev
Russian swimmer Miron Lifintsev won gold in the 50 m backstroke at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest. He won with a new junior world record of 22.47 seconds. The second place was taken by Australian Isaac Cooper (0.02 seconds behind), the third — by Irishman Shane Ryan (+0.09).
Earlier in Budapest, 18-year-old Lifintsev won the 100-meter backstroke and, together with Kirill Prigoda, Arina Surkova and Daria Trofimova, took gold in the 4x50 m mixed combined relay.
"Silver" by Evgenia Chikunova
Russian Evgenia Chikunova won silver in the 200 m breaststroke at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest. The winner was American Kate Douglas with a world record of 2 minutes 12.50 seconds. The Russian lost to her by 2.64 seconds. The third was American Alex Walsh (+4.33).
Kirill Prigoda and his "second" pedestal
Russian swimmer Kirill Prigoda won silver in the 200 m breaststroke at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest. The victory was won by Spaniard Carles Col Marti with a score of 2 minutes 1.55 seconds. The 20-year-old Prigoda lost 0.33 seconds to him. Yamoto Fukusawa of Japan became the third (+0.46). Another Russian, Alexander Zhigalov, took the fourth place (+0.57).

Note that all the results are available on the website of the International Federation of Water Sports (World Aquatics). World Aquatics has softenedthe criteria for admission to competitions for Russians. Russian athletes can now compete in international synchronized swimming tournaments, as well as in group disciplines in swimming and diving. Restrictions on individual starts have also been lifted in swimming.
